Go Camping.

Just do. Do I always feel like it? Uh no... It is alot of work, even for an overnight, but always worth it. Kids think it is the most magical thing to sleep and wake up outside. Great conversation and silence happen as you're taking in God's beauty as a family.

I keep reminding myself that they're not going to be little forever. To cherish every second and take advantage of every minute with them. What better way than to get away from distractions and to just be still.

  1. You're so right, Emily! Our family really needs to go camping soon. We just got some bikes and a sweet trailer for the kids to ride in. Josiah really wanted to try it out @ Little Beaver yesterday. It was a really rainy day and I'm pretty much a wimp when it comes to rain. But it was the only morning we could do it, so I went along, thinking I was adventurous. It started pouring as we left the house, but by the time we started riding the rain had almost ceased. And then, after about 20 yds. of riding, a huge peregrine falcon (we think) swooped out in front of us and started circling the lake! Spectacular. We had the park to ourselves, the kids were mesmerized, and it was definitely the highlight of my day. Thanks for the inspiration to go even further.

  2. You're six months pregnant and you look like that from behind? Very impressive.
